Because the benefits that apply to you may vary based on your work history, you’ll first need to answer some basic questions about your employment with HP/HPE.* Enter your answers to the questions below to generate a personal checklist of steps to take when you leave HPE. Your answers will help determine exactly what decisions and action steps apply. If you’re not sure how to answer, or you were part of an acquisition not listed here, contact the HPE Benefits Center at 1-844-537-5304 (or 1-888-270-5305 from outside the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico).

  1. How did you join HP/HPE?
  2. I’ve been with HP/HPE continuously since before the HP/Compaq merger (May 3, 2002) or joined HP between May 3 and December 31, 2002
    I joined HP as part of the HP/Compaq merger and have been with HP/HPE continuously since May 3, 2002
    I joined (or most recently rejoined) HP between January 1, 2003, and December 31, 2005
    I joined (or most recently rejoined) HP/HPE on or after January 1, 2006, but not through the EDS acquisition in 2008
    I joined HP as part of the EDS acquisition in 2008
  3. What will your age and years of service be when you leave HPE?
  4. I will be age 55 or older with at least 15 years of service
    I will be age 55 or older with at least 10 but less than 15 years of service
    I will be younger than age 55 but my age-plus-service "points" will be 80 or more
    I will not meet any of the potential retirement eligibility criteria for Benefits Plans outlined above
*There are instances in which you may not qualify for the HPE Retiree Medical Program even if you meet the eligibility requirements. This includes if you left HPE as part of the Enterprise Services spin-off.

Special considerations

If you:
  • Are a rehired retiree;
  • Are terminating due to disability or workforce reduction;
  • Joined HP from Compaq but were previously employed by HP; or
  • Joined HP from Triaton
